Updated Rss Feed

I’ve updated the R.S.S feed and update system on my main website so that it does not point to this journal’s feed anymore.

So if you just want to keep track of updates for my portfolio and news relating to that only, you can subscribe to the main website feed: Christine Garner Illustration Feed.

Rss and Website Stuff

I’ve been thinking of changing the RSS feed on my main index of fuzzymushroom.com to only relate to website updates and news seperate of this blog, it would involve several hours of coding though so I’m not jumping to it just yet. I might change things a bit when I get round to designing a better theme for my website. Perhaps an autumn/winter thing, or somthing a bit more polished at least.

Also I have another blog I started on Blogger for anything that isn’t resource or sketch related…

Update to my contact detail page

I’ve updated my contact page on my main website with a link to my google doc’s “guide to commissioning an illustrator” for anyone who needs some guidance on the process.  Just to add: I don’t work on spec or for peanuts, and I won’t appreciate anyone calling me on Skype for a chat unless your a fellow illustrator wanting to discuss techniques or its work related, thanks.

Updates to the gallery

I’ve updated the gallery on my website portfolio with some studies. You might notice I have tweaked the layout a bit as well (groan…) for easier navigation around the site. I’m still not sure if I’m happy with the mermaid design really, it might be a bit too naive of a design. I did think of making one based on the aztecs, but at present I am a bit too busy working on other things.

I’m feeling a lot better as well, might eat something more than porridge soon.

Updates to the resources pages and WIP

I’ve updated the resources pages and the work in progress section. In the resources section I have made a pdf. file of a mind map I made for digital painting tips.

I’ve also put a video montage of the Sharon Stone study from the last post in the work in progress section.

Here is a quick study I made yesterday of a princess I saw in a museum in France this year.

I thought I should stop procrastinating and just get back to the drawing board. Bit like the old saying “stop trying to hit me and just hit me” or something like that.

I’ll be working on an illustrated book project to get rid of my art block, learn some new skills and update my portfolio with something a bit more in depth than the usual “fairy”. I want to show … Continue Reading

Some Minor Updates and Things

Just to say, I’ve got a twitter account now at twitter.com/fuzzymushroom. I plan on tracking how much tea I drink in a day amongst other things.
I’ve also added some stuff to the resource section in case I haven’t already said.

Site Re-design

I re-designed my main portfolio site at www.fuzzymushroom.com.

Please have a look and see what you think. I designed a mermaid sea and coral theme for this re-design.

Coding and Other Things

I thought I should write something here about what I’ve been up to lately and a few plans etc…

I’m currently wearing my eyes away coding the next incarnation of my website which is going to be a lot more illustrative this time. I’m pretty bored of the minimal look already, seems everyone is doing the glossy web 2.0 thing these days.

I’m also trying to improve the portfolio section and have as few or no pop up gimmicks as possible this time around.

My jaw has just about closed again after looking at the new trailer for tombraider underworld and the gameplay … Continue Reading

Back Again

Not that I went anywhere of course.

Sketches and practice things will be posted again soon just to show I’m still alive if anyone wants to know.

I’ve been working on many things over the last few months towards setting up my workplace and business so I apologize for the hiatus of work so far.
